Jen Harris started this petition to Electronic Arts

We simmers are tired of being nickled and dimmed . Many creators lock the content behind pay walls . Some creators do not release to the public until months later or never at all. Some creators have become entitled creators who believe in suing other over property that is taken from imvu, second life etc. Like it or not EA owns all cc because every cc creator agreed to the terms and conditions. If you didn't read it too late.which mean you can't sue other over CC anyway. I ask my fellow simmers to send a message to EA to enforce these rules that was set forth. The issue isn't that they charge. They can, as long as the content eventually becomes free. The issue is permanent paywalls. We ask creators to follow the rules set forth by EA .

Note: This petition is only referencing creators who make CC and not mods. The creators who nake mods respect the rules and even provide a free public version .

EA rules for cc

CC/Mods Locked Behind Paywalls - Creators cannot lock content they make using our game behind a paywall. While we do not police this content (there is no way we would create a team simply to monitor this) we do take reports sent to us seriously and action accordingly.
Patreon - We understand that folks who make CC / Mods for others to enjoy are doing it in their free time and may desire to offset costs to create the content by using this service. As long as the content is still made available FOR FREE we do not mind these types of pages. Folks who have a Patreon page are welcome to provide folks with "early access" incentives for their content but it should be made available to the general public within 2-3 weeks of it being given to folks early.
