Let's urge Election Commission Nepal to implement NOTA — the “right to reject”.
Why this petition matters
Let's urge the Election Commission of Nepal to implement the NOTA "None of the above" option in all upcoming elections of Nepal.
None of the above, or "NOTA", is a ballot option, designed to allow the voter to indicate disapproval of the candidates in an election. It is based on the principle that consent requires the ability to withhold consent in an election, just as they can by voting "no" on ballot questions. The NOTA option allows citizens to formally reject all candidates. It may increase voter turnout by allowing citizens to vote for an option contrary to existing options, rather than decline to participate entirely and tell the candidates that they do not meet the expectations.
Everyone knows that the same old politicians will be on the ballot. We the voters must have the “right to reject (NOTA)” to prevent us from choosing the same old corrupted and disputed representatives. Let’s make our next election successful by electing new and great representatives.
