As we all have heard people speaking about "Equality, Equality & Equality" but when it comes to practice we miserably fail to preach "Equality" . Instead of preaching equality we preach & practice inequality. As a daughter belonging from a bengali family I have seen my family breaking stereotyical norms and smashing the patriarchy and giving each and every female family member equality but still we lag in preaching it.
Voter Id card plays an essential role in recognition of identifying an individual as Indian citizen. There we have seen daughters have their father's name inscribed on it same hand our mother's too have their husband's inscribed on it but our father's have their father's name inscribed on it. This made me think twice that why it always men dominating the world in identification cards too. Therefore as a social worker it made feel restless and therefore I decided to raise my voice to change this norm. And give each and every mother their proper recognition in voter id card.
