Kenzi LA Toy started this petition to Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton and

Throughout the many wards of the District of Columbia (DC), many residents are forced to deal with disruption and being displaced. As a ward 7 resident, I've had to put up with construction for over 2 and 1/2 years, which construction kept my newborn and I up often. Students are faced to maneuver destroyed streets and sidewalks, as they make their way to school. Residents are forced to deal with disruption, with the promises of a better enviornment. As they continue to rip the surrounding sidewalks and bus stops up, which once supported those living in the surronding areas.

Residents are forced to walk over battered streets and make shifts sidewalks. Often residents risk the chance of being struck by a moving vechicle, due to all the confusion on Minnesota Ave. Myself, I was almost hit twice, while walking from my home. The dissruption in DC, especially Ward 7 must stop! The construction must not be prolonged any longer! Organizations must be made accountable for missing deadlines and scope objectives. Residents are suffering, while organizations (construction companies) are being dealt with gently. Bus stops that were once removed, must be added back. Seating for bus stop must be made available, as there are many stops where people have to stand, and bus arrival times are over 23 mins. The streets must be made safe again! A month ago an elderly lady in a wheelchair fell from her wheelchair, while getting off of the bus. Reason, uneven streets. Due to construction... We deserve better. #equaltreatment
