The 8th grade students of EHMS have not had a field trip ever since 6th grade. They had one field  trip which was mystic aquarium before the pandemic started. They have been waiting for another field trip ever since the pandemic ended but they haven’t gotten one.

 When the 8th graders were in 7th grade they were supposed to have a field day but it got cancelled, due to the weather. They have an end of the year field trip to a camp called high meadows but that’s the only field trip after the pandemic. The 7th graders this year have got 3+ field trips this year, and it is only their second year here.

 This brings me to my other point. This is the last year for the 8th graders. They haven’t gotten any field trips except for mystic. They also have only got this year left of middle school. They have to make the most of this year. With COVID happening they have been very strong during this whole pandemic, so they need recognition for all they have been through. Especially during their childhood.

 Some teachers say its because of the students, I think that that is incorrect. They could just allow the well behaved students to go to the field trip. I get it that the 8th graders aren’t the best students but that doesn’t mean that their last year of middle school also doesn’t have to be boring. Just because some parts of the 8th grade is chaotic doesn’t mean that the rest of them are. Most of the 8th graders deserve a reward for everything that they’ve been through.
