The following article from four years ago (February 14, 2013) states that Solon officials planned to only move the skatepark.  As of now (November 14, 2017) there is still no skatepark.

"While the skate park is going to move, it will still be in Solon, said Don Holub, the city's recreation director.

"We're not proposing to do away with it, but move it to a better location," Holub said.

Holub said they would like to keep the skate park at the Solon Community Park, but still need to find a good location for it."

I, Teagan Kawalek of Solon High School, would like to propose that the current mayor, Edward Kraus, build a new skatepark in one of the open lots in Solon Community Park.  Currently the closest skatepark is at least seventeen minutes away from Solon High School.  This should be followed through on for the betterment of everyone in the Solon and skateboarding communities.

I moved from Solon eleven years ago at age four and now I am back to have my four high school years at Solon High School.  I was extremely disappointed to find out that I have no skatepark to go to.  I need a good, safe place to skate instead of just on the street.  Please let this skatepark be built.
