Reduce the homework for 'children'

I have a grandchild, he is 5 and has been given hours of homework. Now then, he loves lego and playing with his friends because he is 5. He doesn't need homework. The system thinks he does, but he doesn't. It's pressure put on a child at a very young age. They are being groomed to please others from such a young age. This isn't what life is about. Life is about compassion, experience, adventure etc etc. It's not about reaching goals for the benefit of the proud headmaster because ofsted 'rate' that school. Life skills are so much more important than any school subject, along with time with the family, time to relax and time to play. Quit giving our lovely kids so much pressure..we need plumbers..cab drivers...builders etc...not all kids are born to be a doctor or a lawyer...not all kids have the skills required to ace all exams...because they are all different..but one thing they all have in common is schools brainwashing them that success is passing every test...it's not. That's not success. So, how about schools stop dishing out ludicrous amounts of homework, and leaving the kids an extra hour or two to read, play, relax..or simply spend longer in the bath...or just so they can be CHILDREN without responsibility.
