Please stop the "One minute rule" in examinations

These days Governments are imposing "One minute rule" which will not allow students in to the examination hall even if they are late by one minute from the time of commencement of examination. Given the traffic situations in cities and other areas of the states, this rule is creating unnecessary tension among the students and the parents. Nowhere the Governments observe this rule so why should this be applied to the students? No departmental examination is conducted with this kind of rule. There can be any reason for a student's entry late to the exam hall. No student willingly comes late to the exam hall and if he does so, that itself is a punishment hence there is no need to follow any rule as such. On the contrary this rule puts lot of pressure on the students hence they are not able to concentrate on studies as they may lose entire year if they are late by even one minute to the exam hall. Last year one parent lost his life while he was driving his son to the examination hall fearing that his son may lose the examination if he gets delayed. Leaving father's body on the road, the student attended the exam, there can be more such incidents which never saw the light. There is no great benefit with this rule than creating unnecessary tension among the students and their parents. We request the concerned officials and the ministers to consider the situation and lift the rule to the benefit of thousands of students.
