Mechancal Workshop Is a mandatory course for every BTech first year students in almost every engineering college. It includes the study and practical application of welding, CNC machining, Carpentery, fitting and so on. However there is no use of having such a course for certain branches like Chemical, Biotechnology, Chemical Science and technology and so on. Although some students may find interest in workshop most of the students of these branches have no other choice but to take the course forcefully.

The main issues caused by this include :

• Wastage of Resources and energy therefore not eco friendly
• Depression in students who have no interest in Mechanical Workshop
• Wastage of time, effort and money- not economical 

It would be better if students are given more choices while taking courses. Otherwise interest in learning new things and gaining knowledge would gradually fade among students who are essentially the future of the country.
