Anirban Banerjee started this petition to Education Minister and Prime Minister of India

Over the period our children has forgotten what Hinduism Means. Ask any Hindu child today about faith, about belief they will end up speaking about few of our popular God's Name. But mostly will miss the crux of Hinduism, Living a good honest life, Helping others, what is right what is wrong. Good over Evil. How many of our children read Gita.

Being secular doesn't mean avoid religious studies in Schools. Some politician after Independence believed studying Hinduism in schools will make our country non-secular and removed study of Hinduism out of syllabus. If that is the case why not stop all Madrasas today? I am not saying it is good. But teaching a religion doesn't make a country non-secular. Everyone is free to study any religion. A Hindu studying Koran and a Muslim studying Gita. Exchange Ideas, Tolerate and respect other's believe. We fear because we don't know. Respect comes only after knowledge.

Religion teaches us the way of life. Every Muslim child studies Koran, Every Christian child study Bible, But when it comes to Hinduism, Hardly any Hindu Child study Gita. We are spiritual country for decades.

Introduction of Gita and Ramayana in our syllabus will improve our Child Morality. Teaching them doesn't make our country non-secular. Surely the corruptions and tendency to commit crime will reduce once every child knows good over bad. Every child loves Hero and aspire to be one. They love Marvel hero. They should know in India there was hero too and how he won over evil.
