Our children are our future. Please don’t let their education suffer due to soaring energy bills!

Already starved of funds, schools across the country are now having to reallocate tens if not hundreds of thousands of pounds in budget just to meet increasing energy bills.

Without additional support from the government, the effects of this on our children’s education - already suffering from the pandemic - could be catastrophic.

For many headteachers, the only decision left to balance this budget deficit has been to reduce the number of staff.

Whether achieved through early retirements and a freeze on new recruitment, or through forced redundancies, the result will be larger classes, a reduction in the amount and quality of individual support and feedback, less opportunity for practical and investigative tasks, and less time for marking and preparation.
