NO TO A ZONING CHANGE BY RTMSD

NO TO A ZONING CHANGE BY RTMSD
Why this petition matters
Rose Tree Media School District (RTMSD) purchased land on Route 352 in Edgmont Township to build a proposed elementary school for 400 students. The purchased land is NOT ZONED for Institutional Use and will require the approval of a zoning change with TEXT AMMENDMENT (Legislative Change to the Township Zoning Ordinance) for RTMSD intended use.
Many residents in Edgmont are against this school at this location as it will adversly impact the health, safety and welfare of the community. THIS LOCATION IS CLEARLY NOT APPROPRIATE FOR A SCHOOL.
This School at this LOCATION will have an ADVERSE IMPACT on ALL residents in Edgmont. It will eventually open up the whole of North Edgmont to housing development pressure. How else will a new school for 400 students be filled forever and forever with students?
The environmental impacts of this proposed school in this semi-rural residential community are significant. It will have a severe impact on the quality of our lives. In time, residents will lose greenspace, open space and freshwater wells. We will experience more congestion, pollution and noise from increased traffic. And property taxes will increase to pay for the overhead of this school, forever. The urbanization of Edgmont is at our doorstep. Help us save the Edgmont we know and love.
Please sign this petition asking the Edgmont Board of Supervisors to do the right thing and JUST SAY NO TO A ZONING CHANGE.
