Save Our Eden Assessor's Office

Save Our Eden Assessor's Office
The Town Board in Eden, N.Y., has indicated that it is planning to replace the elected assessor's office (which includes three elected assessors) with a single appointed assessor.
If this were to happen, it would take the power of deciding who assesses property values out of the hands of the voters of Eden.
Assessments have a big impact on how much you pay in taxes. Having an elected assessors ensures the community that it will have helpful, accessible responses for people's assessment issues.
The Eden Assessors’ Office is responsible for setting fair and accurate values for over 3,600 parcels within the Town of Eden. Their responsibilities are not limited to setting property values alone. They also strive to help residents better understand the assessment process and take advantage of tax exemptions the Town of Eden provides.
