In Barangay San Agustin, we know that not all alleys have streetlights and sometimes or rather most of the time it is not safe to walk in dark alleys especially at night and there might be snatchers or people with bad intentions lurking around the alley waiting for their next prey.

So we propose the following:

A. ) RENEWABLE ENERGY/ ECO FRIENDLY STREET LIGHTS -. Street lighting can provide safety benefits at midblock and intersection locations and can also improve safety for pedestrians, particularly at crossing points. Lighting intersections can also aid navigation and helps drivers to see the intersecting road, turning vehicles, traffic queues and any other road users. So, we suggest having a streetlight but, in a budget, friendly and eco-friendly way. We can start it by using plastic bottles as the cover for the bulbs, and buying solar pannels to convert sunlight into energy that can make the lightbulbs to lit up.

B. ) STREET LIGHT CHECKER – We suggest to have a weekly checking of streetlights, to know if it’s still working properly and if there’s light bulb that is needed to be change. This task can be responsibly done by nearby residents.

We are encouraging the participation of the Barangay Captain, for his approval to implement this petition, the Youths and Rabus Organization for their Manpower and other suggestions in implementing this petition. If this petition will be approved, we assure a safe walk on the residents of this community every night.
