This petition was formed to reject the moving of our beloved on-campus coffee shop: Common Grounds. From what we have been told, EMU faculty plans on removing Common Grounds from the University Commons basement to rent it out to an unknown third party. Common Grounds would then be moved to a gathering place: the game room. This petition is to reject the move of our favorite underground coffee shop to avoid unnecessary expenses and the space that will no longer be available to students and faculty. Common Grounds is our purposefully made-to-be mellow, artistic coffee shop that's the vibe is rooted in its location. This coffee shop is used as a calm study zone, meeting place, gathering place, and quiet atmosphere. When moving this coffee shop to the game room, not only is the calm atmosphere taken away but the "vibe" that the students love so much. 

Errors: 

• no third party?- space may be moved to give students another area for students to gather: it is undecided
• the UC will be the new "hub" for the student body
• more accurate information: this petition was formed by student information. 
• the only signatures that are EMU students will be counted
