Stop attacks - Better street lighting and security on Cherry Garden Road

In recent months there have been attacks on young girls around the Cherry Garden area in Eastbourne. It is a shame to say, what once felt like a safe part of the town, now feels the opposite. This particular part of the road is a 'blind spot' and is not well lit or visible to the neighbouring community as the South Downs is on one side of the road and Longland recreational grounds on the other.
In a hope to put an end to these attacks from occurring, we feel that better street lighting is needed and the use of a security camera to monitor the road to discourage this kind of unacceptable behavior. Better lighting is in the interest of everyone who uses this quiet road as is a security camera which would not be a violation of privacy as there are no houses on this part of the road.
If these changes are failed to be put in place, we fear that these attacks will keep happening. We hope that these safety changes can be implemented and that this area of Old Town can be safe again.
