Create a Dog Garden in East New York. A Chance for a Mentally Clean Dog-Loving Community
Why this petition matters
ENY Brooklyn struggles with being a mentally clean community. East New Yorkers find a freshness of sanity through the many gardens and the community members' pets, specifically their dogs. But what happens when the community isn't designed for these members and their pups? They are left feeling put out. Part of the Puppy Love Services initiative is to bring members of the ENY community a reliable and sustainable dog garden.
Puppy Love Services is a new business in East New York, Brooklyn, and its owner is a lifelong resident of ENY and has struggled with their mental health. All that changed when she got a Pitbull and realized the piece of mind she thought she could achieve within her neighborhood showed her it was beyond her reach. Dolly knew her community was a heavy dog community, but there wasn't anything useful for the pups in the community- not even poop bag dispensers. This needs to change. What happens when dogs- social by nature, are cooped up inside all day with no way to burn the energy they generate? Like most social creatures, they become anxious, nervous, and possibly destructive & violent. Dolly and her company can change that behavior. Still, the necessary environment (ample open space to roam free or on a leash and be social) must be provided to relieve pup parents of this sort of stress with their dogs. Room to roam can also keep dogs off the streets and out of shelters.
Dolly and Puppy Love Services' mission is to change how ENY's pups and parents are treated by letting them know they aren't forgotten. If Fort Greene, Prospect Park, and even Highland Park can have a space for pups and their parents to destress and have fun in the wide-open outdoors, then the general area of East New York, Brooklyn should too.
Sign today to petition our Council Members, Borough President, Assembly people, and everyone else who can help make this happen. Let's do ENY right by supporting this mentally clean initiative for East New York dog owners.
