Cycle track - East Leake to Gotham

Many Gotham residents make use of services in East Leake; in particular, many Gotham families have children that attend school at East Leake Academy and Lantern Lane Primary School. Despite the short distance, there is currently no safe way for children to walk or cycle between Gotham and East Leake.
Walking is not an option for children as the footway is poorly maintained and requires pedestrians to cross a dangerous road twice.
Cycling on this road is dangerous (especially for children) because the road has blind crests and bends that often cause motorists to pass close or attempt dangerous overtaking manoeuvres. Also, the road frequently has large potholes due to the fact it's often used by heavy goods vehicles.
An off-road cycleway would provide a safe, environmentally friendly way for people to travel between the two villages.
