Hi, my name is Sierra I attend East High School. I have created this petition because as a female having to use the restroom should be allowed while at school. At East High School most female and male bathrooms are locked during the school day, during that time other students and I have to walk to the 2nd or 3rd floor just to go to the bathroom. Instead of using the bathroom closest to our class. Even though male and female are known as unisex bathrooms because East does not have the funding to either turn or create and gender neutral bathroom for our school. Which allows male and females students to use either restroom when wanted. This has to stop students should be at least allowed to have access to all bathrooms before and after school hours. As well with the ability to wash our hands in the bathrooms, the age of people doing devious licks to steal bathroom items has ended to a point where we should be able to wash our hands in the bathroom. Bathrooms are allowed at all schools so why does East continue to lack the issue of fixing these problems that are major inside the school. So I am asking for everyone’s help to be able to show this petition to the school board and DMPS to bring the attention of lack of bathroom availability and usage.
