Ware Pubwatch started this petition to East Herts Police

The town of Ware in East Hertfordshire has a population of over 19,000 people with a range of restaurants, public houses and leisure facilities.  East Herts was just named the best place to live in the UK, according to the Halifax Quality of Life annual survey!

With a growing population and an increasing amount of individuals visiting the town to enjoy the growing vibrant night life the town is busier.  This is very positive for the local businesses, however it does bring with it issues and concerns

The publicans of Ware have a very active Pubwatch group which is protecting not only their customers but also their staff.  The group communicates issues and concerns that arise as they happen, ensuring issues do not escalate.

One of the biggest concerns publicans have is the lack of a police station in Ware and the response times, Police Officers are based in the neighbouring town of Hertford and are often too busy to respond  quickly to calls in Ware.  This leaves the town and local residents vulnerable.  Police Officers have to commute to Ware from the station in Hertford to carry out patrols, some officers and PCSO's do not have access to a vehicle meaning they are reliant on public transport.  This means that their patrol time is reduced due to the amount of travelling time, with the town of Hertford being busier an evening presence of a Police Officer is very limited

The Publicans of Ware are raising this petition to encourage the local council and East Herts Police to bring back a Police Station to Ware
