Tomorrow (Sunday, June 6), East Fort Garry community members are collecting names and phone numbers of those who are AGAINST Manitoba Hydro's continued clear cutting of Sandra Crowson Park without proper environmental due diligence.

Their plan is to continue to clear cut 12 - 15ft around each Hydro Pole in the entire Park, devastating the habitat of thousands of native plants and animals.

We have already contacted a Winnipeg lawyer to help advise on next steps and will send an official letter objecting on Monday.

Manitoba Hyrdo failed to provide community members notice, as well as failed to provide a lawful environmental assessment about the potential environmental impacts to their clear cutting, or "line management" as they claim.

As we all know, there are more environmentally sound ways to maintain power lines and preserve the local habitat that various species of native plants and animals, rely on; most notably Great Horned Owls, deer and native birds.

We are relying on the community support and grassroots involvement to actually stop Manitoba Hydro immediately, so sign this petition if you agree to be on record in opposition.
