SAY NO TO GREEN BELT BUILDING IN CAMPSIE

In the United Kingdom, town planning initiated the GREEN BELT. This is a policy for controlling urban growth. The idea is for a section of countryside, where urbanisation will be resisted for the foreseeable future, maintaining an area where agriculture, forestry and outdoor leisure, can be expected to prevail.

This makes sense....to most reasonable people.

The fundamental aim of any green belt policy is to prevent urban sprawl by keeping land permanently open, and consequently the most important attribute of green belts is their openness. Hence any beautiful and rural conservation village, with surrounding countryside, has significant importance for everyone who either lives here or visits these particular areas.

This makes even more sense....to even more reasonable people.

Lennoxtown, here in East Dunbartonshire, does not have the required infrastructure to support the addition of a further 400 houses on top of the currently agreed housing developments. Flood defences, education and road safety, being some of the more important ones requiring attention. If East Dunbartonshire council designate an area for Greenbelt, then it really should remain Greenbelt and not for building developments.

This makes even more sense....to even more reasonable people.
