To install a Lollypop person / crossing guard at Honiton primary school
We feel the entrance to Honiton Primary School on Clapper Lane, Honiton is currently very dangerous.
On both drop off and collection times the road gets heavily congested due to the number of vehicles, this is not helped by bad and illegal parking on double yellow lines and parking on bends makes visibility when crossing more treacherous.
Vehicles often park on the pavements causing an issue for buggies, bikes, scooters and those on foot which could cause an accident as there is not enough room to pass on the pavement and this means stepping out onto the road which is hazardous.
We believe a lollypop person / crossing guard outside the Clapper Lane entrance of Honiton Primary School would help the safe crossing of pedestrians and a reminder to car users to park and use the roads more appropriately and safely. A lollypop person would also help with traffic flow as they ensure safe crossing in groups rather than people crossing in different locations.
This also helps children to learn road safety
