Noncompliance to ECU's face covering protocol has been visible in Jenkins from the first day of classes (August 23rd, 2021). Jenkins Room 1220, previously an art history lecture hall, was formerly repurposed as a non-art lecture hall for non-art students and hosts large quantities of non-art students from multiple disciplines and majors.

SoAD peers have reported multiple offenses of ECU's Face Covering Policy and Mask Mandate, and OSSR Non-Academic Reporting doesn't meet the limited information we may have on violators. ECU has created a direct chain of consequences for violators of mask mandates and disregard for student public health but has inconsistently applied punishments as reporting individuals is difficult in passerby witnessings. 

Mask wearing is and has been followed strictly by art students and faculty.

Jenkins is the only art facility on campus with creative research resources (studios) and specialized materials to meet our project needs.

WE CANNOT RISK LOSING OUR STUDIOS AGAIN TO STUDENTS WHO DO NOT RESPECT OUR PROGRAMS AND OUR BUILDING!
