Below is more about the petition!

Planning permission has been put forward to build on a beautiful piece of green in Ely, this space is known to many. This location is Heaton Drive & land to The West, Heaton Close, Kilkenny Ave, Gunning Close and Nigel Road.

We need your voice, your neighbours voice, their neighbours voices! Please sign and share as the more objections the more we stand a chance. Many people are against the idea of this land being built on.

The Green by Heaton Drive;

This space has been a special place for well over 15 years where people have been able to walk their dogs, a play area for kids, kids learning to ride their bikes, a quiet place for runners, a small piece of green with fresh air amongst a space for the elderly to enjoy. A space that kept many of us sane during lockdown.

Our strong beliefs are based on these objections:

Over development will generate more traffic. Road access will become clogged, the road leads to the Princess of Wales Hospital and GP surgery which would create more parking problems amongst causing delays for people to make their appointments let alone any emergencies.

Lynn Road/ Davidson Road cannot take a further increase in traffic,
especially when the hospital is also up to full capacity.

Dangerous t-junction, traffic coming from Chettisham seldom observes the speed limit.

There is not enough provision for open spaces in Ely. This has been put in place before the public have had any right to voice their opinions and by over developing we will be letting our wildlife and nature conservation down. There would be loss of mature trees!

Please sign this petition and make your voice heard, add a comment because this will back the objections! The council will get all comments and signatures! I am certain we all have our own reasons and the majority of us would not like this planning to go ahead. Let us stand together on this!
