I'm a transgender person and a veteran. I think ALL people should be treated equally and given their rights that I fought for.

I am transgender. If I could have discussed this in high school I could have avoided 20 years of suffering. We can't bury our head in the sand and pretend that these school kids don't exist. They need protection from abuse and respect as part of humanity so they can reach their full potential! The alternative is unthinkable.

It is utterly disgusting to treat trans kids as second-class citizens just because some worthless bigots kicked up a fuss.

A school should be willing to support and protect all its students. D131, stand by your decision.

Equality should be for all, not just a few. The gender binary has been disproven, and this school board needs to adjust its rules to reflect this scientific fact. Uphold transgender rights!

It is important that you provide the very best environment possible for your students. That includes the minority as well as the majority and you have a special responsibility to protect those who are most vulnerable. The transgender students are far and away more likely to be harassed, assaulted and even killed than the norm. They are also more at risk for depression and suicide because they cannot fit in. That you would consider rescinding your vote based on pressure will send an awful message both to those students and to those who will attack them.
