Traffic lights in place of zebra crossing on Bilton Road to prevent futher incidents.

Bilton Road is the main access route from Perivale to Alperton and routes to the A40 it is a major commute route and serves many of the industrial work and small businesses in the local area.
However although a 20mp zone was implemented, proper speed ramps did not go ahead to slow vehicles use of the road and ease damage to homes with large lorries frequenting the road. The main concern has not been tackled however which is the main zebra crossing having seen many a incident over the years and close calls every day.
As a resident of the area and parent to school children that have attended the local primary and nursery schools and use the crossing each day this is a real concern, the area at the crossing imparticular is a danger zone with vehicles not slowing down and often ignoring the Motoring Laws of pedestrain right of way, causing a major safety concern to many school children, cyclists and pedestrians crossing directly from the Costa fish bar side of the road to the adjacent Lee Road.
At school time this is not even monitored by a Lollipop Lady/Man that would help manage the busy flow of school children in the mornings and afternoon.
I write this petition today as incidents have become more frequent and severe with 2 major incidents in 2 days as the pictures attached show and this is becoming an every day reality.. 3 people have been seriously injured in one week, one awaiting further confirmation as to whether they have survived after a fatal motorbike and car collision occured just this evening.
A traffic light system would slow traffic in a key part of the road, improve the safety of children attending local schools and safety of pedestrians and cyclists using this crossing each day.
How many more lives need to be put at risk before action is taken when such simple and effective measures can help prevent such incidents. Please sign share and help make safety in our community a priority again.
Thank you
