Alison Jermak started this petition to ealing council

Wood End Library and Children's Centre is a substantial community facility and there is a clear local demand the for services that this building provides. The demolition of the library would result in the significant loss of a valuable community resource for local people living in Greenford and Northolt.

In 2011 the Department for Children, Schools and Families and Ealing Council made a significant investment of £870,000 in the refurbishment of Wood End Library and Children's Centre to modernise the building and to provide access to computers, a range of learning opportunities, family support, activities for children and early childhood services. We believe that to proceed with the demolition of this building would be a huge waste of public money, not to mention the removal of these vital services for local people.

Regarding Ealing Council's commitment to the environment (to become zero carbon by 2030), we believe that the council should preserve and enhance the use of this important community building for current and future generations of our community, rather than choosing to increase waste and emissions in the process of demolishing and rebuilding on the site.
