We need people of Wellesley such as teachers, parents, and students to recognize the effect that racism has on everyone ranging from elementary to high school. We need to take affirmative action, not just host an assembly, watch a video, nor send an email. If "One Wellesley" is going to be a thing it needs to be enforced.  Us as children and teenagers of color don't want to be looked at or judged or discriminated against because of what is a skin color. WE as teenagers of color who are seeing and experiencing the problem need everyone to be aware that the problem is still there and will not go away unless it is forced away and not allowed in our school system. As you may have heard Waltham high school had a peaceful protest (this included small group discussion with faculty and students, following a whole group conversation.) We want to follow in their footsteps due to all that we have been through this 2016-17 school year. It is important for us to be heard and start the change or it will never happen!
