Airline High School and many other schools are restricting our right to express ourself because of the endangerment of “learning without being distracted.”. In all reality, this is an excuse to hide personal opinions. The administration wants nothing more than to keep their solid reputation without any “oddballs”. If two middle schools (Greenacres and Cope) can have dyed hair than why can’t a simple Highschool? To the older generation this might seem outlandish but expressing ourselves is how we cope in society. It is not distracting and boosts our spirits! Another point is that dying your hair is expensive!! Around 100-200 dollars if getting it professionally done. If you are going to force a student to redye their hair at least pay them the amount it took to dye it! Let the students actually enjoy coming to school and let us have some freedom!
