Why are WASPI women still being denied their Pensions? Why is the Pension age still rising?
WASPI Women have paid in believing they would get pensions at 60. They were and are the generation that had no equality of pay, often had to leave work if they got pregnant or married. Were normally totally responsible for housework, child rearing, and often worked at least part time. Many were military wives who had no chance of careers as they followed their husbands at home and abroad. Even now many will not receive a full pension in their own right and even if they do it is ok where near what a man of the same generation will get.
The ombudsman admits we were lied to and not given proper notice of huge pension changes. Our money has contributed to this £37 billion 'surplus' so why are we not getting what we were due? We were promised pensions at 60. If they wanted male and female equality then perhaps they should have given us credit for the years we worked and the advice we often took re opting out due to the married couples pensions.
Would it not have been fairer to change pension ages for those that joined the scheme after the changes so they had enough notice and years to sort this out?
We deserve equality and fairness for rapid changes we were neither advised of nor given enough time to supplement. We deserve the pensions we have paid for.
