The sudden decision of the government to cut 3 years from the originally promised 8 years drastically changes my life and life of my family. Literally, it destroyed our plans to have another baby! We cannot afford my wife not working if I start paying full taxes now. What also terrible is, my wife can not easily find a job immediately. She doesn't speak English, and her Dutch is very low yet to be able to get a necessary education in Dutch. I was promised 8 years, and I planned our live according to that. My wife was pregnant on 7th month when we moved. She supported me in that, as initially I was hesitating... I told her - they promise 30% ruling for 8 years. That was one of the important motivators.
This move from government is sneaky and unfair, it's a lie, basically.

Retrospective legislation is contrary to the basic principle of law making that it should apply to future acts only.

How can you organise and conduct yourselves in accordance with legislation when at some point in the future they can make changes which apply to previous actions?

It is absolutely ridiculous.

This another example of the unreliable Dutch Government they treat the expats and the nationals like shit, they go on their knees for the Junta in Bruxelles. it s like the times of the Spanish occupation of the Netherlands has returned.

The Dutch government reneged on the 30% deal that was the basis for me moving my family to the Netherlands. We planned to stay in the Netherlands for the foreseeable future but the changes to the tax cast doubt on the situation. My trust has been Eroded.

I am signing this in order to continue with 8 years for 30% tax ruling.

Being an expat we go through lot of expenses, this 30%ruling should not be decreased to 5 years.

30% tax ruling should continue for 8 years for all of those who have joined or joining before 2020 December.
