Thank you for your email. Durham Region Health Department is working closely with our school board partners to ensure that all public health measures (such as physical distancing, masking, enhanced cleaning, etc.) can be adhered to as part of the return to school plans developed by the province. The Health Department is actively discussing these public health measures with our local school boards, and everyone understands the importance as we plan for a safe return to school in the fall. If you have specific concerns about the province’s reopening of schools plan for the fall, please reach out to the Ministry of Education and/or the Ministry of Health.

Regards,

Glendene Collins | Manager, Community & Resource Development
Durham Region Health Department

Office of the Commissioner & Medical Officer of Health
