Our DuPage County Election Board is making decisions about voting machines and other voting methods very soon. (Fall of 2021). HAND MARKED PAPER BALLOTS are the most transparent, recordable, fair, and audit-proof method utilized to vote. Our county can eliminate using expensive  electronic voting equipment and secure our votes at the same time. We want ALL VOTES to Count regardless of your party or candidate choice. Research has indicated it is a cost saving method of voting, which most tax paying constituents can deeply appreciate. It enhances the efficiency of auditing and comforts citizens that a FREE AND FAIR election has occurred. Public viewing of the ballot counting can be part of the process if requested. 

The updated method of then scanning the Hand Marked Paper Ballots can keep these ballot images for twenty two months as required by law which can be accessed for live-streaming in real time and then easily utilized should a robust hand count audit be requested.  

It is likely we will trust the board to carefully choose the most efficient ballot scanners with proven integrity on the market and still supply the disabled with an  e-voting option.

It is more secure to further insist on removing remote access features of any kind in all counting equipment as well. 
Shelby County In Tennessee just voted to use only Hand Marked Paper Ballots instead of voting machines.  I hope we can do the same in DuPage County in Illinois     now as this opportunity for choosing is upon us.
