Reduce Dunster Village Speed Limit To 20MPH
Reduce Dunster Village Speed Limit To 20MPH

The current speed limit of 30mph in Dunster is too fast, given the narrow streets, blind corners, frequent absence of footpaths, lack of signage warning of pedestrians along the main roads, and the increased size and acceleration of modern vehicles including lorries and tractors. After repeated near misses, minor accidents and damage to property, we now request action to protect both the residents of Dunster, and also the visitors that the village heavily relies on.
We, the undersigned, are concerned residents and visitors to Dunster who urge the Dunster Parish Councillors, Somerset West And Taunton Area Highways Department, and our MP Ian Liddell-Granger, to act now and reduce the current 30mph speed limit to 20mph, as it is in Porlock. We also request signage for narrow roads, and pedestrians in road, where appropriate, and ‘please drive slowly through our village’ signs at each end of the village.
