Hiya!

This is a petition to try and get something to change about our studio fees at Dundee University - DJCAD!

Because of coronavirus many of our students are unable to come into the studios and the uni has declared that we will have to spend most out time at home studying. Students can only access studios sometimes and many don't have the resources. This is devastating when many don't have resources at home or the funds to purchase their own expensive equipment.

The studios are only available on rotation, students will only be able to access them in the day time (9 to 5) and they are not open during weekends or evenings. Students have to book the studios for a small period of time and if you don't get a slot you will not be able to use them. The library is also limited and many students find that they have to use the Studios rather than the library. The right resources arent always at the library so completing work will now be harder.

It is also unfair on students who are shielding as they are high risk and even more unlikely to come in to studio. This is due to medical advice. Many International students won’t make it in to Dundee for term start due to isolation periods and travel restrictions are also expected to pay the full fee.

The university want £100 from each student for the start of October which is unattainable for many as student finance isn't coming in till September.

We understand that corona was sudden and the University is trying to fix it but why should we pay full price when we won't have the garentee of using the studios!

Please sign and help us try and get the university's attention!!
