Save Pamela and Ian's Memorial Tree

Save Pamela and Ian's Memorial Tree
The Issue
21 years ago a memorial tree was planted in the grounds of Menzieshill High School for two good friends who sadly died (Pamela Tully and Ian McShane)
Through the efforts of several classmates funds were gathered to pay for the planting of a cherry tree sapling and erection of a plaque. The planting of the tree and placing of the plaque went some way to alleviate the sense of loss. The grounds of Menzieshill High School were the most appropriate place as Pamela and Ian were pupils there.
Demolition of the school is due in 2016 and the council have refused to protect or move this memorial tree.
We would appeal to Dundee City Council or the company who buy this land to keep the tree and plaque in it's place so it can grow as they both did not have the chance to.
" There is a special garden where the trees of memories grow, nurtured by the kindness and concern that good friends show, the roots are cherished memories of good times in the past, the branches tender promises that souls endure and last. It's a place of peace and beauty where bright new hopes can start, it's memories lovely garden that soothes the hurting heart."
