Safe pedestrian access to Castlepark School
Safe pedestrian access to Castlepark School

With more children cycling and walking to school, at the encouragement of the local council and government, we request that urgent attention is paid to the safe access of children to Castlepark School in Sandycove, Co. Dublin.
There are two pedestrian gates to access the school on Castlepark Road and Ulverton Road but no pedestrian crossing to either one. Both of these roads are busy with through traffic and neither are safe for children to cross at present.
We request that pedestrian crossings are implemented at both of these locations to ensure safe access to and from school for the children attending it.
With additional restrictions to drop-off and collection necessitated by Covid-19 protocols plus additional construction traffic for the apartment block adjacent to the school, the situation has become more alarming.
There have been a number of near-misses and we all want to avoid anything more serious occurring. This effects all residents of the area and the council is urged to make it a priority.
