A petition to stop the closure of the Midsteeple Box Office in Dumfries Town Centre.

The closure of the box office goes against the council's intent of revitalising the town centre.

Closure will:

Cause a reduction of footfall through the town centre, affecting other local businesses.

Accentuate the abandoned and depleted look of the town centre.

Make the town centre less accessible for less abled people who currently hire free mobility scooters from there, impacting on their quality of life and independence.

Result in fewer bookings for theatre and event bookings, meaning a reduction of events booked in Dumfries, again affecting local business, venues and performers. 

Therefore, we, the undersigned, petition D&G Council to reverse the decision to close the Midsteeple Box Office.
