Stop proposed rezoning in Woodland, save our green spaces!
Why this petition matters

The area off the end of Vassar street in Woodland is currently up for proposed rezoning from light residential to dense residential housing with a proposed addition of 25-30 homes. We are opposed to rezoning this parcel. This area is directly uphill from Amity creek and the Lester River watershed. A large development in this area will impact the trails, wildlife, in town bow hunters, and wetlands. The increase in residential housing density will directly impact an otherwise pristine wilderness that has very few invasive species and is home to flora and fauna not found elsewhere in Duluth.
We are requesting a discretionary environmental review of this project and it’s potential impacts on this area prior to the planning commission and city council settling on a decision. Please sign our petition to help make this happen!
Update 6/8/21: The Rezoning passed at the planning commission on 6/8/21 6:3. We plan on continuing our fight at the city council.
