Lakhs of Students of Class 11 and 12th of CBSE Board took Applied Mathematics as a subject because it includes topics which are benefitial for a career in Commerce & Humanities.

( Click here for the link to the news ) 17 September 2021 - UGC (University Grants Commission) directed all varsities to treat the Applied Mathematics subject for class 12 students at par with Mathematics while calculating aggregate marks for admission to undergraduate courses for humanities and commerce.

05 October 2021 - DU (Delhi University) - Applied Maths will not be considered equivalent to mathematics for admission to BA(H) Economics. It will be considered equivalent to Bcom and Bcom(H).

This implies that those with Applied Maths will be considered without Maths and one can not opt for BA(H) Economics.
This directly affects the hardwork and the preferred career choice of all those who opted for Applied Mathematics.
We all chose this subject to enhance our career and not to change our career lines. This sudden change put our careers at stake and we are left in lurch.

The more people sign the petition, the more it will come into light and benefit the lives of Millions of Students in CBSE.
We plead to Ministry of Education, CBSE, DU(Delhi University) to reconsider their decision as soon as possible as the 2021-22 Batch is just months away from passing-out.
