I work in road construction and do cone set ups on main roads and highways. Over the past 3 years of working on the road, I’ve noticed the majority of drivers are unclear about the rules of driving through work zones, acknowledging the road work signs, and merging efficiently at a safe distance from a cone set-up. Including a “driving through work zones” safety lesson within drivers Ed will ensure the safety of our construction workers, detail police, flashers,other drivers, and yourself. This safety course being apart of the drivers ed test will be beneficial for the overall safety of everyone within a road work set-up. There has been too many deaths caused by distracted drivers and/or drivers that are unsure how to operate their vehicle safely while proceeding through or by set-ups.
