We Kept Our Teachers and Non-Teaching Staff Safe

Anannya Parekh
New Delhi, India

Mar 24, 2020 — As the nation goes into a 21-day lockdown, we are all trying our best to stay home, and stay safe. When I started this petition a few days ago, it was with the aim of making sure that our teacher and all non-teaching staff remained safe, too.

In a week, over 54000 of you supported me, and stood by me. On 21st March, teachers and non-teaching staff of universities, colleges and schools were permitted to work from home till March 31, in a statement made by Amit Khare, Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

A big thank you to each and every one of you who signed and shared my petition. I could not have done this without you. I know that the times are uncertain and may be even frightening, but I know that we will get through this together!

Stay safe,
Anannya
