As we navigate through this pandemic, the Drexel Nursing Clinical Directors have shown little to no sympathy or understanding about clinical attendance and the $200 clinical make-up fee. As nursing students who already pay thousands of dollars to attend Drexel, not everyone is fortunate enough to afford the cost of a make-up since many of us could only afford this school through student loans and federal aid. With that said, the parameters that our Clinical Board has set up, motivate students to attend clinical even if they feel ill since the financial burden would be far worse. We ask that the Nursing Program Chair, Mary Yost, the Assistant Clinical Professor, Mary Jean Ricci, along with anyone who can make a change, reconsider placing the burden of the make-up fee on the students and instead, on the college during this pandemic.
