Edward Hooft started this petition to Drew Dilkens and

Let's not allow the City of Windsor to change a bylaw that currently restricts the height of structures built on the northside of Riverside Drive.

I am upset with the City of Windsor’s intention to change a bylaw that would allow a structure to be built on the northside of Riverside Drive which would obscure the view of the river from the Drive. When the original bylaw was enacted I bragged to my out of town friends that Windsor would have a continuous park from the Bridge to Devonshire Road.  All with unobstructed views. There have been variances since then.  Let’s stop changing the rules that go against council’s vision established decades ago. I can think of many locations on the southside of Riverside Drive.

I believe the best location for the retired street car would be at the Canadian Transportation Museum.  It would be gracious of the city to donate the street car, a building to house it and funding for maintenance.  Our city’s gift to our County.  And an additional tourist attraction for the region.  We would all benefit.

Let’s honour our previous councillors and do the right thing.
