I myself and plenty of others, students and teachers alike, believe that the dress code needs to be updated and reevaluated to fit modern times, the petitions focus is on all parts of the dress code, but one of my main focuses with this is the “No hats in school policy” there are ways to go around it such as have students wear a visible student ID and if in trouble show teachers or other staff members the student ID. Have to go through the office to sign a paper, whether a legal document, or just a sign up sheet, to show teachers which students actively want to wear a hat. As i stated, i believe that all parts of the dress code should be looked over and reevaluated, including accessories, forms of face covering, and how to handle these types of situations when a student goes against it. And it can assist students with forms of anxiety and depression.
