Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature, is perhaps the greatest fantasy story ever written. It follows the story of Tripitaka, The Monkey King, Pigsy, and Sandy (their English names). 

Many know of the immensely popular anime Dragon Ball, which is a derived story based loosely on the characters and ideas created in The Journey West. The main character Goku is basically ripped right out of the Novel, as from the beginning of the show it is clear he and Monkey share more than just a tail and a flying nimbus. 

While there have been many TV and film adaptations that are great in their own right, there has yet been a show that does this epic story justice that sticks closely to the source material. The archetypes and characters are still highly relatable in the modern day. 

Dreamworks has recreated classics like Voltron and She-Ra, and they have arguably made them better than their predecessors. I urge the creators over at dream works to create a new animated retelling of the ancient and epic story of The Journey West.
