Pattonville has decided that the high school should return to fully in person learning on March 29th, right after spring break. We are petitioning to cancel this because this is unsafe, unfair to the students, and unethical. Pattonville students will be unable to keep physical distance and will be in close quarters, and quarantining will become a major issue, as students will be very close together. Pattonville will also find that lunch will be impossible, as there is no way that all students can be socially distant during a mere 3 lunch periods, a time when students eat, talk, and socialize. March 29th, the day after spring break, is a terrible day to start this because it is right after spring break, when many will party, meaning that there could be dozens, if not hundreds, of symptomatic students roaming the halls of Pattonville High School. Pattonville is already struggling to enforce wearing masks, and adding more students to the building will only make this worse. Students will also suffer academically, as they will have the expectations put onto them raised massively, just before finals. This will also cause many students to skip school or just quit altogether, as they can't keep up with this new schedule. Overall, it is very easy to see how terrible this decision is, and how it will negatively impact the students and staff of Pattonville High School.
