Japanese Class for UT Arlington!

Here at the University of Texas at Arlington, we pride ourselves on our diversity, and wide range of cultures. Our college has various cultural societies, such as the Chinese Culture and Language Association, Arabic Language and Culture Organization, Russian Culture Society, and many more. These culture societies and many more are represented in our language course selections, which include Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, etc.
However, not every culture is equally represented with a language class. One of the more significant cultures being largely underrepresented here at UT Arlington is the Japanese culture. Despite the fact that we have a Japanese Culture Society, an Anime Club, and many students who are enthusiasts of Japanese culture, UT Arlington does not offer a Japanese language course. Without a Japanese course, we students are missing out on the opportunity to engage in business relations with Japan (an economic superpower that has good relations with America). Additionally, our students who wish to study abroad in Japan are unable to learn Japanese at their own pace, and are either forced to attend crash-courses, or to learn Japanese on the go once they get to Japan. Therefore, we the students of the University of Texas at Arlington request a Japanese Language Course be added to our curriculum choices.
