Pride Month: June is a month of pride and celebrating yourself, your sexuality and being true to who you are. For many youth it’s hard to come out to their parents, family and their community. Many are shamed, shunned and kicked out of their homes for being apart of the LGBTQ+ community. And school is supposed to be a safe place to be yourself and a safe environment to learn.

Allison Stiles spread homophobic hate speech, threatened a minor, threatened to physically harm them(student in picture) and outed them to everyone. This student, who will remain anonymous for now, to not further out them, is now exposed to everyone. School is the only place that some students feel free to safely express their sexuality, gender identity, etc. Not only did Allison risk outing this student but also made them a target to other homophobic attacks. Allison made these threats with compete disregard to them and the entire LGBTQ+ community’s safety and well being. Comments like these are extremely harmful to students mental health.

Hate speech and cyber bullying is NOT ALLOWED nor tolerated IN ANY WAY at Ceres High yet here we are allowing such things to go with consequences. Students have lost graduation privileges for much less. This type of behavior shouldn’t be tolerated and the students at Ceres High won’t allow this to happen!
